President's Message

Welcome to the Zonta Club of the Coos Bay Area’s website. We appreciate your interest in our organization. Our mission is to make the world through service and advocacy a place where women and girls can achieve their full potential, living violence free while being represented in decision making positions. Our local club was founded in 1953, and we are a member of Zonta International which in 2019 will celebrate its 100th year of empowering women both locally and globally.

As part of our service mission our club has raised tens of thousands of dollars through local fundraising events, allowing us to provide scholarships to local applicants, grants to local non-profits and financial contributions to the global service projects and educational programs of Zonta International.

In Coos County we support three student clubs; Z Clubs at both Marshfield and North Bend High Schools and a Golden Z Club at Southwestern Oregon Community College. The women and men in our club believe young people are critical to achieving gender equality and ending violence against women and girls. Our student clubs help young women and men develop leadership skills, develop community and international awareness. We work together as a team on our club projects and events.

As you look through our website you will read about our local events and club projects. We are a busy club with something for every members taste. Please join us!
