Young Women in Public Affairs Award Applications Available
Applications for the Zonta Club of Coos Bay Area 2008 Young Women in Public Affairs Award are now available in all Coos County Public Libraries and all Coos County High School Guidance/Career Centers. This is a cash award of $500 to the winning applicant. A $100 runner-up award is also available.
The goal of the Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Program is to encourage young women to participate in public and political life by recognizing volunteer activities, leadership achievements, and a dedication to the advancement of the status of women.
The Zonta International Young Women in Public Affairs program looks to the young women of today for the leaders of tomorrow. Applicants must be high school students(age 16 – 20).
In addition to the local club’s cash award, the winner is eligible for an additional $500 award if selected as the Zonta District winner. Five district winners will be selected to receive additional awards of $1,000 each from Zonta International.
Applications are due to Zonta Club of Coos Bay Area, P.O. Box 245, North Bend, OR 97459, by March 1, 2008.
